So as tittle says i am new to the go kart world still learning the ins and outs of a go kart now i have decided to go with a Ninja 250cc engine which Exaclt series Not to sure yet. but im looking at a compression ratio of 12:1-12.5:1, now with that said i know in the automotive world a compression like that plus turbo can produce good power at a Massive cost of, how many trips to the strip WILL it acually last down the track, Now with that in mind. this is what i came up with as a idea list Please give me suggestions.
-Ecotrons EFI kit + Tunning continued Later in post.
-Ebay style header manifolds Adapted to turbo setup for rhb31 at factory wastegate presure
- custom intake piping with my old 3000gt Side mount intercoolers to bring air charge temp down
- Water Meth Kit
-possbale E85 Still in process to figure out IF i really want E85 for the extra cost.
SO i cam out with this formula for a 12-13 :1 compression ratio
These are target a/f economy style
Idle: 15.5-16.5
part thottle : 12-14
WOT:10-11.5
WOT w/meth 11.5-12.5
anyone See if this is a decent Setup for a low boost acourse Some fuel with be added/ remove perable it will be a over rich situiation so it will control detanation + knock.

What size is the turbo? I have never seen one for an engine that small. The turbo on my 1200 Kawasaki is made for a bike, is much smaller than a car turbo, but still way to big for a 250.

No, the higher te rpm the more lag, ie from my own cars example , td04 factory turbos will come in at 3k with my upgraded turbos larger compressor wheel ad a larger exhaust wheel it comes in fully by 4.5k so bigger turbo= more lag, smaller turbo is less lag, this is a perfect example of turbo lag, http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Enm7jgtQ4BY you will hear it start spooling at 1:17 takes a while to come in, and when it does it will fly, small turbo will drop off up top, big turbo will have no botten end until you start producing enough flow to spin turbine to create boost. As a official note ill proby blow the 250 motor .. And I'll have fun doing it
