I just bought this go kart, I know it needs a motor and a seat. The rest I'm completely lost on. The steering needs to be set up and I have no ide a where to begin?
Here's some pictures of it

Looks like it got severely stripped.

EDIT: Looks like a Manco 285 or 225.

EDIT 2: go to Harbor Freight and buy the $94.99 Predator 212 cc engine. It's on sale this month.

We plan on getting the predator 212 but we need to get the frame painted and steering set up before we even think about the motor. I'll take a look at the manual thanks

Thanks hellium for the pic assist.

Cjmottes what kind of garage do you have? Tools? skills? Just getting a feel for your capabilities.

We have all the basic hand tools, we are brand new to go karts so skills are weak but the major thing is we can't weld which is why we bought the frame

I don't get your odd timing requirements being that you cannot consider the engine before anything else.

Nah, get it now. Not likely to see it at $94.99 any time soon again. Besides, while you wait for your precious paint to dry, you can run it in for 'break-in' purposes. Gotta make sure it's a runner.

Here's a link to the coupon you'll need...http://www.diygokarts.com/vb/showpost.php?p=485129&postcount=31

Sorry I didn't mean it directly like that. We are purchasing the motor this week while it's on sale but we're just working on getting all the wheels on before placing the motor on
