Hello I got into go carts because my firearms hobby got so expensive and I'm taking a break.
A while back I got a 40$ bladez 26cc scooter that had an engine on it but with the wrong muffler and the wrong air filter and the carb needed rebuilding and a bearing in the drive system was shot. I got another fully operational scooter from a friend and based a scooter rebuild from that. I stuck a seat I made up from bent pipe and rebuilt the engine for as much performance as I could gleam from a stock tanaka 26cc and the project reignited my passion for small engines.

I've been fixing chainsaws, and wood chippers and other small engine machines so why not go carts? I thought about framing the two scooters together to make a cart. So I did the reasonable thing and got a go cart.

I got a chinese cart for my first cart a week ago used off of a guy for 100$ it had a honda gx160 5hp motor on it but with a crack in the crankcase that spewed out oil and at some point he broke the crankshaft bolt off in the thing and welded a washer on to keep the centrifugal clutch in place. So I put that motor aside and got a harbor freight clone gx200 predator and a new clutch comet (questionable quality). Other than that it has a live rear axle (no differential) so it is just a play/slider cart but all I want is a car like thing I don't put insurance on and then drive like mad. Man the thing goes fast now and it has the power to really do a mean slide.

Well thats my story hi all.

cart pics

Welcome to the forum.

How about some pics of the kart!!

Sure. Lets start with the old engine a honda 5.5 with a briggs and stratton gas tank crudely mounted on it. The cart went pretty fast with this on it and a 13 tooth clutch; as well as spray oil all up your back.

Heres the whole cart. I've taken it all apart and put it back together to make sure its sound. The paint is pretty worn so I plan to repaint it as soon as I figure out how I want to tackle the floorboard as it is riveted on.

And the back of that predator 6.5hp 212cc.

OK, it looks like the mods dropped the ball on you there Man; your posts weren't showing up because they needed to be approved by a moderator first. If you used the upload tool, that wouldn't have happened...

Now I must ask you to edit the two remaining post into one... if you wouldn't mind :)
