Engine, wheels and tires will be your biggest expense. Then your drive system, whether it's a cent clutch or torque converter...
If you have a yard/fun kart frame, a predator 212 will work just fine. If its a race chassis, you need to see what it was intended for, box stock type or 2 stroke power plant. The more info on the frame in question, the more accurate answers you will receive......

I think that depends on your skill in driving gokarts, it's not just like a car, there's a little more to it.

You are going to need an axle, tyres and rims, bearings, steering gear, brakes, sprockets, clutch, engine, seat, and many other things I cannot think of now

If you go larger than 8HP, you are going to have to buy a really expensive clutch

You can go with a bigger (heavier) motor with more HP, or you can build a 6.5 HP clone to full race if you want to....but yeah, start stock until you get the hang of driving it. A fun kart does NOT handle like a race kart and big HP on a fun kart can equal you on your head. Trust me on this.;)

All you need is a standard kart engine for that frame. You will have a lot of fun. It will be fast, geared properly. I hope you're short, cause that frame is intended for a child. It only has a 41" wheel base......
You're obviously new to karting, so I HIGHLY suggest sticking to a normal kart build and not go all out, thinking the more power the better. It don't work that way with karts and could end up with you getting seriously hurt or dead.... Karts are inherently dangerous vehicles and should be treated as such. It's when you have great skill at controlling a kart, that you begin to modify it, and ONLY then. What good is hp if you can't control it.??? Stick with the basics. It's all you need to have fun. We have members pushing 50+ mph with a standard (worked over) kart engine. My gx160 is in the 9+ hp rating area.... BUT we KNOW how to handle our karts VERY well. I can give you a ride that will make you pee your pants (I won't stop till you do, lol,jk ) with my daughters little 2 seat kart, and it's only a 1-wheel wonder!! It's how I can maneuver the kart and make it do/go where I want it to..... Not because it's got a bad @$$ engine, it's a bone stock predator 212......

8hp, cause after that, you move up to a 1" shaft and a lot more expensive clutch. Not to mention the added ton of weight to make the kart handle like crap......
Sorry 'bout the double post.......

I have deleted your other threads that you ceated asking for parts help for your frame. Please do not create multiple threads

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THE BEST PARTS WOULD BE FOR THIS FRAME THAT THE OP BOUGHT?

My suggestion for one stop shopping would be peruse Azusa's online catalog....http://www.azusaeng.com/ . You are gonna need steering - they have a shaft & wheel assembly (note: you will need a steering block to connect the shaft to the tabs on the frame. May have to go to Comet Karts for that). You need spindles and tie rod assemblies. They have that. You are going to need an axle, bearings & flangettes, a sprocket & hub, lock collars...they have that. You need brakes. They have that. You need pedals. They have that. Get the idea?
