New to building (Need 3/4 clutch help)

HEY So i have a monster moto 80cc and i bought a predator 212 engine and im ready for a swap!
I am totally new and dont know **** I seen many swap videos and clutch videos but nobody explains how to remove a key.

Only problem is the engine has a key thing preventing me from placing the clutch on it, the clutch also has a key thing inside.

Also it didnt come with any screws so i will need those asap!

I called this place and they remove keys for 60 bucks..helllll no

No problem....just take a punch...(or if you don't have one...a 16penny framing nail)...or similar and just put it on one end (close to the bottom) and tap.

Set screws can be found real cheap in hardware section at either Lowe's or home depot.

True...but now that you mentioned it....the clutches are shipped without them because...they only need to be used when the end of the engine shaft is not tapped for a bolt....

not trying to take over the thread, but if I have a stripped out set screw on an old briggs 5hp, can I use the tap through it method you described, or should I just drill it out? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum. Scroll up to the top....see where it says: "Engines and clutches.?" Click on that....then "Start new Thread"....type in a title....then your question in the post box...and then "submit new thread"!

I tried saying: " I'm not really trying to speed officer! ".....and it didn't work either!

Key Problem

Were you able to remove the key from the engine shaft itself, so you can bolt on the clutch with key attached? How did you do it?
