i just traded my last mini bike i built for a honda 5.5 engine and starting on my next build and as the first i am going to build every thing from scratch again. based on what i learned from this site and others i should be able to do it. the only things i plan on buying from the stores is sprockets, chain, and torq converter. can u guys point me to a good place to purchase this stuff.

built my frame jig today and started on my springer forks today.

worked on forks some more today. and test fit them today. just have to shape triple tree plates in the mill tomorrow, make parts for tube bottoms, and welding. should be done tomorrow evening.

finished up my forks today. and through the whole process never thought they were going to work right, boy was i wrong, i am amazed how well they work. i give thanks to chopperhandbook.com for their plans. even though i had to modify them a little bit. project is getting closer and closer.

i used 35 for my chopper nd i havnt had any problems with it. but 40 is stronger depending on the weight of ur chop.

so i was on craigs list today looking for parts to use on this, like wheels and stuff, well came across this and figured i could use the parts from it. it was cheaper to buy this than 2 new wheels. but now that i get it home i dont want to take it apart, lol. anyways thought u guys had to see it, lol.

that things cool just keep it. Yer its stupid, its cheaper to buy a whole trolley including 2 wheels then it is to buy 2 wheels on there own. Its cheaper to get a new torch with two batteries then it is to buy one battery for the torch. Stupid.

yeah that is crazy isn't it. well when i bought it he said that it wouldnt run, thats why i had planned on using it for parts. and from the pics it didnt look to great but now after hours of tinkering and cleaning its running and i think i even fixed the speedo. but being that its now 3a.m. i have to wait till tomorrow to test drive it. cant wait, and think i am gonna have to keep it. plus it will be nice to have something to play around on while im building my 2 wheeler. that way i dont have to be in a hurry and can do it right.

well im basically done with this just have to weld up some brackets for this tank that i picked up for 10 bucks, and a custom seat has to be made up. and then a nice paint job. i had to swap out the forks they need thicker tubing or to drop some round stock into the tubing. they just shake to much at certain rpm's and when you use the front brake for a stop on a dime kind of stop. plus i went off road riding yesterday and and with these other forks from the trike it was such a smooth ride. no shake. dont get me wrong they are nice for flat ground riding or for looks or even off road only if reinforced, any ways if anyones interested in them they will be up for sale or trade. heres some pics, let me know what you guys think or maybe some suggestions. the tank is just sitting on there till tomorrow when i weld some brackets for it.
