New Project

Hi everybody i just picked up another project. The guy was clueless on what it was telling me the engine is a 150cc and the reverse stopped working and that the steering rack was busted oh and it did not start. He had it up for 650 i picked it up for 400. A little more than i wanted to spend but oh well.

On to the good stuff. Once i saw it i knew that it was a 250 due to the rad and looking at the engine im 99% sure it is a cn250. Im sure it is a Roketa GK-19. The steering box is not busted it just needs an alignment. The reverse shifter cable is snapped and i got it to turn over but the battery is so dead and i cant find my jumper cables but im sure it will be a fun little project with a little effort i can probably get this thing looking good and make some money off of it!

a couple of us have suggested that you post your pics in the more common and easier to view format: "go advanced", "manage attachments", and "browse" to upload files from your computer. the way you're doing it now the pictures are HUGE and hard to view (especially for those of us with little laptop screens).

i guess you didn't get the memo. lol.

Thanks for the pics n1kogr. That is one sweet little buggy. By the looks of it you should have it running soon. So the engine runs OK? The battery is just dead?

He said the engine does not run nor turn over even with the new battery. i played with the connections on the batt and tried to start and it turned over just realy slowly also the lights work but were very dim. i think with some more battery juice i will be able to get it going. Also on another forum this same engine with clean carb and strong spark does not start, a quick valve adjustment and it started right up so hopefully mine will be like this or even easier

nice buggy

im sure u have already checked the oil

try to turn the engine over by hand and make sure there isnt anything locking up internaly and externally
also remove the plug
if it turns over easier without a plug then the valve timing might be out

if u think the wires are corroded or incorrect then u should be able to touch the jump cable +straight to the starter and thatll give it a gutful
if it still turns slow then u have bigger issues

it wont take much to crank a 250

the ground is somthing many forget and is often the issue
there might be a few connecting the batt to the engine, engine to frame, batt to the frame
if the ground is bad then that would cause the new batttery to fuction like its 1/2 flat

Got this thing running today! Turns out the problem was a $10 switch. I would get a video but somehow the radiator cap popped off when i was riding on some rough turain but other than that this thing runs very very nicely and the suspension is very very smooth im really liking this thing

this buggy is fun because i got to go in the trails with my girlfriend and have fun together but my other buggy is alot more fun because it is alot lighter and the clutch really helps roost around turns. The new buggy is kinda just there to cruise around on not performance in any way

haha i striped it down to bare frame to bring it to the shop and paint it. the PO took some spray paint to it and as you can see it is in dying need of a fresh paint job then i will sell it to help fund my next build
