Hey guys,
My friend and I are just starting to put together a kit we got from gokartsusa.com. Its our first time doing anything like this, so any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Browsing through the forums, I saw some really cool karts, and we hope we can get there some day too haha. Here are some pics of what we started with and the initial painting.

That entirely depends how much free time you have, and how creative and resourceful you are. Being a cheapskate helps too. My scratchbuild cost me about $200CDN and that included a new engine, clutch, and sprockets. Recycled materials included "roadside" steel tube for frame, Lawn tractor and gardening wagon parts, motorcycle parts, and parts from an industrial ventilation fan.

Tools were pretty much limited to cordless drill and drill press, 4 1/2" angle grinder, 120v welder, and the usual assortment of wrenches, sockets, pliers, etc.
