power chair charger
My guess is that would be the charger. I found a power chair quite similar to yours some time ago (yours is in a much better shape) that appears to have the same motor and transmission (by the shape, cause the labels are all gone). The motor controller is dead but the motor itself works well, I've used a lawn tractor 12 V battery to test it (staying on one foot on the center of the frame while holding the wires on the battery terminals...) the thing seemed quite fast. It's got a real differential inside that transmission so I'm thinking of a go kart for my little one (it would be significantly faster than the $4-500 12 V ride on electric toys you can buy in a store). The steering is busted so i'm looking into rebuilding everything around the transmission. Perhaps installing larger wheels would make it faster. The 8 Ah batteries you're showing (if I got the label right) may not last too long in conjunction with this motor, that's why I'm thinking of 2 lawn tractor batteries. My only concern is they're not of the sealed type so an accident can lead to acid spil that can be really harmful. Perhaps installing them in a sealed box... The safe option would be finding a set of sealed batteries that are spill proof. Good luck with your project!
