I was screwing around in MS paint, tossing ideas around. Do I need to go this crazy, or is it overkill???

If you do use the green bracing, I'd say to omit the current front cage bars except for the ends past where the red bracing intersects. Also, the x brace on the main hoop is a bit overkill for this kart.

I'm glad that so far nobody thinks I need it all- didn't want to add that much weight. But all of your suggestions this far leave the upper corners unsupported and I'm concerned about rollovers. My welds are good, but I'm not a structural engineer, and I want to make sure it'll take a hit.

Well, Freak- not a bad idea, but in order for the test results to be accurate, I need the weight of a driver in there, too. Lemme know when is a good time for you to come by, so I can strap yer @ss in........... ;)
