Need some design ideas for my new project.
Im thinking about a 2 seater off-road rear suspended only buggy type thing with roll cage (obviously) :innocent:
I already have two rear shocks (small buggy) a small 11hp clone and a pretty nice torque converter and a small but nice disc brake system.
So any ideas???
:confused:

Well, dude, it already sounds like you have some sort of idea as to what you want to do, but you have to visualize what you want the end result to be.

Sounds like you got some nice parts there to start with. You have to take into consideration what type of material you're gonna use or what's available to you, how strong you need it to be, etc.

Not too many of us here have built off-road karts, hopefully some of the guys that have will chime in soon with thoughts.

I like karts

Square=easier to work with

Round=nicer to look at

you choose (I prefer round personally because it looks really good as opposed to square)

Square is easier to work with, round is stronger and looks better. You can use square for everything and round for the main rollbar hoop (must be in one piece, not welded together).

Looking for design ideas, here's a couple of places you can get inspiration from:

http://www.edge.au.com/buggies.htm
http://www.minibuggy.net/forum/projects-progress/9706-mini-arm-buggy-kids.html
http://www.rorty-design.com/content/R16_Shotgun_manual.htm
http://www.rorty-design.com/content/R82s_manual.htm

^All of these are usually powered by much more powerful engines, so you would need to make a smaller lighter version, but hopefully they can give you some inspiration and ideas for designing your own buggy.
