I think Ford was already using Duraspark electronic ignition in 78.

Are ya getting any spark? (just check it off the the end of the coil wire with a little screw driver or something stuck in it)

Well i did more work on my truck today.

Changed the oil used 5 quarts of valvoline and one quart of Rislone engine treatment. My uncle recomended it cause he puts it in all his engines with the oil and he recently pulled a valve cover off one of his Bronchos and he said it was pretty clean for never being torn down before.

Changed the oil filter also

Changed all spark plugs to autolight platnum (all they had in autolight).

Did a compression test on all cylinders the numbers are below.
Also tested spark for the hell of it.

I bought a compression tester and spark tester from harbor freight. i wasnt gona use my dads one from 1970 were you have to manualy hold the fitting on there then crank it over lol little guy like me i got a feeling id be gettin bad readings with that

Compression
Cyl 1. 138-140 Psi
Cyl 2. 125 Psi
Cyl 3. 120 Psi
Cyl 4. 130 Psi
Cyl 5. 50 Psi
Cyl 6. 140 Psi

Like I sad, it is very likely a stuck valve, pull the cover and tap all the vales with a hammer to see if they return properly. If not, soak the sticky ones in WD-40 and work em. If all the valves are good then pour seafoam in the problem cylinder and let it soak for days, free up them rings.
