new project-bike

I haven't really done anything in a while, so i jumped on Trade Me and found a yamaha XZ400 v-twin motor in running condition for $210.
so im going to make a "Mad Max" style chopper with a fat quad tyre out back and a something from a dirt bike up front.
Anyway this build will probably be a bit slow, its gonna be a week or so before i get the engine.

the forks are from a 1967 ct 90, and i think i'll leave the tires with the tread on them.

Loved that movie. One of my most liked of all time. it is hard to think that his salt flate records still stand today.

Thats odd, I was quoted $50 to get an inline 4 MB engine from Christchurch to Auckland.

Still not a bad price for that engine. Good score!

TBH, I cant remember. I was looking at buying it from a guy on TM, he got the quote.

Fifty bucks sounds right, dont know why its so expensive, must fall outside thier parameters

Is it being delivered to your house? Or to the nearest depot? See if you can get it on the back of Mainfreight/Daily freight/Etc trucks when its coming back empty. Usually you can get it cheaper.

I had a look there, everything's pretty expensive, but i sent a couple of guys some emails. I'll wait until they get back to me to see what happens.
