Howdy
Just joining from North Texas. I'm no stranger to speed - growing up my father had a '67 442 olds with a 540BBC, in highschool we found a Buick GN to play with, currently I'm putting an LSx in an Rx7. In college I was on the Formula Hybrid SAE team; fun project, it could have been much much faster, but I was the lone gearhead vs all the engineers, lol. Anyway my name is Brandon.
I have a 14-year-old brother (Brett) who's starting to catch the go fast bug as well, he lives on a 65 acre ranch and has enlisted my help this summer to put a "real" go kart together...
Our plan is to take our 3/4 dead yerf dog and put a 250cc+ motorcycle motor/tranny in it. After that we'll beef up the rest of the kart as parts break, haha.
We'll keep it simple and fun! Our tools will be a cut-off wheel and a small mig welder. There will be plenty of pics, and plenty questions. We're glad we found this forum and hope to learn a lot and see some crazy ideas!
