Aloha and I'm from Kentucky. I have been wanting to build a kart for sometime now since I got given an extra sport bike engine. I'm wanting it to be some sort of buggy so that I have good offroad use. I like the setup that I saw on here that has the one engine with a jack shaft to step down the gearing(who really needs to go 150mph on the dirt?) and change the sprocket point to the center for the independent suspension in the rear. But finding a source for the CV shafts has been something that is just boggling me. I'm well versed in fabrication as until recently, I was a welder and fabricator. But as luck would have it, I'm getting a MIG/TIG/Arc unit and alot of steel from work since they are closing down. Even if I have to use small U joint axles, that would at least work because it's going to be in the mud a lot.
