Hi all,

New member here, my son is a passionate builder and modder, started with RC cars and planes. He's spent a lot of time this summer in the garage modifying a 350w razor dune buggy by upgrading the batteries, adding forward/reverse, solar charging, and some street style lighting. He's looking now to move the components into a larger frame (on the hunt at the moment via fb marketplace, suggestions welcome) since he's outgrowing it, wants to carry his younger sister, and wants upgrade the electric motor or change the gearing to improve the torque. he also wants to build a small trailer he can tow around the neighborhood doing odd jobs for our neighbors. Looking to this forum to point me in some helpful directions to support his passion, on a budget!2026-08-18 17.15.20.jpg

I would suggest that you purchase a welder and learn to use it. That frame is solid, you and your Chief Engineer can modify it, upgrade it and build a trailer. No better investment for a BUDGET BUILDER!

Yes! Great time to introduce the kid to welding. It will be invaluable in his future. Easy side money as well. Everyone will come to you guys for easy welding money.
