Have posted a pic of a kart frame I've just acquired. Am trying to find out what make/type of cart it is so I can hopefully get some parts to build it up. Any help much appreciated.

It looks like the frame is modified because of the metal bars vs the metal tubes welded on.

Ground clearance is about 7 inches. Underslung axle. King pin arrangement also not typical of UK track go karts.
Agree that the square tubing might not be original but the main frame looks to be professionally manufactured.

Thanks for the response. I have managed to find a number (though somewhat obscure) stamped on the OSF lower tube to the kingpin, looks like H1S-01A but as I said it isn't very clear.

We know what you mean

My guess is the kart was pro built to hold an engine on the left side & someone has modified the frame (rather well) to hold a rear mounted engine... still no idea what it was though; a quick google search of the number you found yielded nothing...

Are those brake hubs on the front?

Hi guys, thanks for your interest and a couple of possibilities
a/ raceinstructor on karting1.co.uk suggested it could have started life as a Zip Californian circa 1971 before a bodger got hold of it
b/ I found a picture of a Barlotti Class 4’ 250cc gearbox kart chassis that looks similar
either way I'm going to chop some bits off it - put the rear axle over the chassis, chop off the lower arms to the king pin, in an attempt to put it back to something like a go kart
