Hello everyone im new to forum but been in the go kart game for awhile (strictly yard carts) i have recently taken a liking to quads and motorcycle engines and i have started a project titled
"The GoBuggy" currently i have a mid 80's honda fl350 odyssey frame, dual A-arm front independent suspension from a quad and i have a 2001 Suzuki sv650 engine as my power plant i am working on this project with my father who is a 50+ year welder\fabricator and i want to do this right and legit and i feel this cart/buggy will need to have full IRS to perform and go the places i want it to go with that being said ive been scouring google
for chain driven live axle cv full IRS kits options and have come up with really nothing ive seen plenty of pictures of carts and buggies that have something like i need but im mostly neeeding advice on what i should be looking for thanks for any help or advice you cane give

No expert here, but I'm pretty sure there is no "kit" for such a thing, you have to DIY. That's a fine photo, though.

If it was me, I would start with designing the frame first, keeping in mind that it needs to accommodate a rear diff set-up as illustrated by the photo. I think this semi-trailing arm design is brilliant, as it eliminates the complexities of a double A-arm type rear suspension.

Yea a trailing arm will be a lot stronger, especially if you plan to have tons of travel like the kart in the pic has. Dodge dakota front cv shafts might work well, they are the style that bolt up. All you would need is a short axle with some flanges on the ends.

Well, there are kits but, they're expensive...

Have a look at Edge Products; both the Barracuda & the Piranha use independant rear suspension; if nothing else, you could get ideas of what you need...

The hardest part of building this type of rear end is deciding which parts to use, most importantly, the axles themselves; then yu need to find matching hubs...

Thanks Fabroman you hit it on the head about the rear end ive looked at so many chain drive setups called shops was told i should get a shaft driven differential out of atv/utv so much is going on in my head its about to explode and i haven't even started anything yet

i have seen some of those kits and yes they are very expensive i will look into your suggestions hopefully it sheds some light on what i need to make my own drive setup

thanks again
