Hello, everyone. My name is becca I live in new hope, north carolina. It's a small community. Anyways, I'm new to the gokart world. I've done a lot of work and a lot off. Studying mostly done from this site. I enjoy this form very much. Y'all are very informative and helpful, and it's nice to have that, especially when you're DIY(er) new or old! My husband brought home a gocart for our 11 yr. Old. Son i'm pretty sure it came from a snow blower or tiller pretty sure it's meant to crank, stay on idle. The frame is a vortex. Six horsepower go cart but at first I thought it was the motor that came on it, but then I noticed when I took off the carburetor to clean it was stamped briggs and stratton, I believe it's a 5 or 6hp. The carb has more build up then I like so I may just order one but the cleaner stayed threw everywhere and out an opposite opening(plz over look my terminology)
. And it would run, but it would cut off. Listen, maybe 50 or 60 feet.
So I clean the car again. And decide to take off the gas tank and check out governer The governor was not hooked up at all, it does crank and stay running now. So I made a small accomplishment, but it only runs on choke. I did extensive study to make sure that uh, set up the governor correct
But when I did the only motor that I could find exactly like one with my governor it was only on something that didn't have an adjustable throttle.. it will die as soon as move it. I feel like it could be a simple fix. I feel like it has something to do with how the throttle cable runs to the governor arm. How the governor is set up and the throttle runs to it? It should be wide open, it seems to be closed. Does anybody have any ideas or advice?
Please no negativity like I said, before, i'm new to all of this.
