Hello everyone! Well I am a new member here. I am currently undergoing a project building a go kart powered by a 1000cc Suzuki motorcycle engine. Custom built frame by a local fabrication business and am going to basically make a frakenstein kart if you will. Alot may call me crazy but it is because I had the motor which is a fully rebuilt and basically brand new motor, for free and I had nothing to do with it and wanted a crazy toy. It is going to be made in the fashion of a shifter kart. As soon as I get pictures I will post them up. Can't wait for you all to see it and I know I will be asking many question. Thanks!

A few have tried this, some successfully, some not so much...

It's good to hear you had your frame professionally built, that's a step up already, as long as it was engineered to handle that monster engine...

Do you have pics of your frame/progress?

Not at the moment, when I get the frame back I will post up some pictures of the engine, and frame. Currently my only real concern is the axle. I'm a little unsure which diameter axle to use and a little unsure how to run a dual rear disc brake set up. Everything else is pretty simple to me, (I have a degree in automotive technology and a minor in engineering)

That all depends on the overall design of the kart itself; is it a rigid frame, half suspension, swing arm rear or full suspension...
