Hello, I am currently entered in the St.Labre 200 build/race with some buddies and ran across this forum while researching. I have not built a cart before, but have done a couple of Jeeps. I have lots of welding experience and run a fab shop, so I have been elected lead hand on this job. Most of the questions I ask on the forums will be design oriented. It looks like you have a wealth of knowledge on here and I look forward to participating.

Well Folks, the weekend was a blast! We made it from 9TH position up to 4th place. Then the wheel fell off! This knocked us way back to 11th, but we managed to make it back to #8.

Awesome. If that weld job on the wheel what you guys did to keep it on? That is some serious patching up you did. Congrats though!!

How long did it take to actually make the kart?

Yes, the factory weld holding the flange to the hub failed. My first fix let loose after 5 laps or so, second attempt held. Approx. 20 hrs. build time. I am going to divert this thread to discussion under St Labre 200. Thanks.
