Good morning all,
My two sons recently have become Go Karting enthusiasts. My Wife and I bought an old streaker Kart and fixed it up with some paint and seat cushions along with a new Predator 212cc. Since Christmas it has transformed into a overhaul and upgrades like a live axle, mechanical disc brakes and home made chain guard. We have mounted an on board tool box mounted to the frame.
The second Kart I bought is a unique BKS Grasshopper Kart. This too was a rusted busted wreck when I found it. We turned that around and put a new live axle, new brakes, re geared to a 48 tooth sprocket and headlights. The addition of the racing slicks make it look menacing too. Unfortunately, we removed the original Bobs Karting sticker when we stripped the frame down and painted it. I have no idea what year either are, so I am guessing they are from the eighties? My sons of ten and twelve did all the welding of the brackets and alterations to both Karts. I taught them how to use the welder and they are both very good at it.

Some additional images. No before pictures were taken unfortunately. They were both red when I bought them.

Awesome,
I love Classic American cars, Karts, Guitars and anything that is American and vintage. But the Boattail GS with factory sunroof is the holy grail of all cars for me. My 12 year old wants to get a 1967 Oldsmobile cutlass to fix and drive now. He loves welding, wrenching and riding.

Yea, I guess you could say I have a problem. I have a few Oldsmobile 455s and a 12 bolt and a set of c casting w30 heads. They say there were only 200 pair of the C heads cast and they are the best flowing out of all of the Oldsmobile heads ever cast.

So, when are you getting him one? Don’t loose that momentum you got started with him. Once he figures out girls can be fun too you may never get him back to the dark side.

Hopefully he begins to learn about how to budget better and save more. He has his goal of owning a car before I bought my 1972 Riviera when I was fourteen.
