To introduce my self I'd like to say that I am 24 yrs old and I sell industrial equiptment for a living, I also spend a fair amount of time building various versions of chevrolet small block motors just for the fun of it. My latest endeavor however was to try and fix an old murray go kart I had in the back yard what Id like to do with it is put a solid drive shaft on it without changing to much of the design. Is that possible? Or am I wasting my time? Another question I would like to ask is am I the only guy from Alabama in here or are there others? Id like to start some things if its possible.

yeah u can switch to live axle pretty easily as there are axle kits. (that is, if you know how to weld).

most karts that are one wheel drive have the engine on one side, which may need to be centered. Next is chopping the dead axle off, and welding on some axle hangars. The rest of the kit would just bolt together after that.

Thanks alot man! Though according to the map I'm all alone over here haha. I tend to see welding as an art form that I have yet to master. But with a little practice I'll get the hang of it. as for the axel and how to mount it, I have a general idea of what to do but how can I or where can I get a good deal on one?

Mfg supply. will have a good deal on your live axle, and they always have flat rate shipping. 5.99 no matter how much you buy. So make 1 big order and save on shipping.
