New Kart Project

I'm young and always tinkering and when I dropped off our old stove and water heater at the scrap yard found a kart.

It's a three wheeled, 205cc with a Briggs on it.
Was running already started making modifications
such as new brake lines, figured out a throttle solution
Running a counter spring on the choke and whatnot

So I'm gathering info and joining the club to make this into
A decent 4 wheeled kart.

That thing is sweet! I would highly recommend keeping it as a three wheeler though.

I'm partial to anything with two or four wheels, and when he told me it was faster than his moped my thoughts said "Roll-over Roll-over Roll-over" ( <- Army thing)
So basic idea

My Improvised throttle

I need to figure out framing the front end..
Straight bars back to front or two 45's or both, lower foot pedals or level (front tires will match back)
Oh and where the seat "is" the belt to chain is being moved to the rear. (More Safety Concerns)

I'll put this up too, how I did my throttle and why it confused me. Mostly because it's from a snowblower and no turtles or rabbits :/ Just an off on switch, and a twisty go/idle.

This picture was a pre-mod, and what I ended up doing was snipping the choke twisty (white), removing the spring, and drilling a hole in the bottom and spring to hold it closed (ie low throttle/neutral) and then running a bike brake line through the same hole - giving it acceleration when tugged.

Nice find!! You found that at a scrap yard!! Sheesh, can you believe people throw this type of stuff away! A working engine can be sold on ebay for a lot more money than dumping it at the scrap yard. Crazy

IMO, I would also keep it 3 wheeled

What's a kart project dream if you don't build most of it.
Updates put throttle to that hand control for now until I order foot pedals, also started cutting steel and setting up for my weld plan. Also a new seat!
