haha! Yay! I love the comments all, thanks so much, keep them coming. I am heading to the shop in a few hours to put the throttle cable on and brakes!

I will probably switch to larger wheels soon, though probably no roll cage any time soon. My last one never did it, I never really turned hard, but things do happen. This is a pretty heavy cart!

A spring under the seat will probably end up being installed as well, though my spleen will have to do as suspension for now!

As for the 2:1 header and carburater turtlemann, I have been thinking about that. I wondered if having one piped into the other was bad for it, or if it choked it for performance or anything.

As for the carb, I don't know how to upgrade it, I guess I would have to get an adapter first or something, and a new air box. What is this about a pump? I also am not ready to blast of my governer, would I have to with a new carb?

Thanks so much!

idk, i can tell you my tractor has a kolther v-twin and its manifold style.
but i can also tell you that the exhaust gasses are moving pretty fast though the pipe on mine (considering you will feel it hit you in the face 10 feet back from it at idle).
would be nice if you could tune each pipe no?

It would be pretty cool! It might be done soon. I just want to get the wheels spinning on this **** thing! All that is left to do is mount the drive clutch, but I have to buy it first. Everything else is ready! I am not ready to drop 150 on the clutch, can someone help me out? Anyone selling comet 40 drive clutch?!

I will post pictures of brakes and updates this weekend. Hopefully I will have the kart back at home!

Brakes and throttle cable have been installed. New bumper as well! All I need are the primary 40 clutch and the jackshaft and larger sprockets.

As for the sprockets, I have 35's. But I am thinking with this much torque I will need the 40 sprockets and chain. I think something with rings will be easier to maintain too, I can clean it and oil it to keep it happy!

Grab the 4-speed off the bike, and rig up a shifter arm. Your clutch can be a pull-trigger on the arm itself. Grab the shifter, depress the clutch, shove it in gear, let go, hammer it ... no extra pedal needed.

Huh?!

I've been thinking about doing what dcook3333 and taking a high low gear box from a snowmobile and putting it on my kart, thats such a great idea, I got my brakes from the sled, I don't know why I didn't think of that!

I just bought the rest of my parts! I will post some pics up tonight with the brakes installed if anyone wants to take a look. The brakes are awesome!

So! I am very excited as I think I will be riding towards the end of the week! Here is what I just bought.

40 series comet drive clutch
14" 3/4 jackshaft
4 1" key locking collars
10t #41/40 jackshaft sprocket
60t #41/40 axle sprocket
Billet aluminum sprocket hub

I felt the last hub was just a bit week, I gave it a small whack and it bent right over, so, this nice big aluminum one will make me happier!

I hate digital cameras! And USB! USB IS TERRIBLE! Why can't they just keep both ends the same. I can't find a digital camera to fit any of the memory cards I have that fit my memory car readers, nor any cables that will fit both the laptop and the camera............JUNK! Baaaaaa!

I will get some pictures up here soon.

I need help!

Now that my exhaust is very "flowful!" I wanted to get a larger air intake for it, like a cone filter of somesort. Will I have to play with the jetting on my engine, or is there some sort of mixture screw on the carb? Or should I just leave it be with teh exhaust?

Parts should be here Friday!

Most likely have to jet, doubt that thing has a mixture screw. I'd go with a dual stage uni pod filter.

you could always pick up another carb for it... (like off a dirt bike or something)
they are highly tunable (i don't think the cards they com with are) not sure on price but i think you would need one off of a 250/300cc engine
how many cc is that v twin?

Hey Turtle: It's a 620cc engine! Sooo....I might need a bigger carb? I have been trying to think about how to do fuel injection with ITB's. I know if a money pit and very complicated, but I think I could do it. We will see which way I go!

Thanks Briggs, I should have videos of it running and driving it around this weekend! IF I CAN GET MY **** CAMERA TO WORK!
