Here is my second kart project. It is a RobRon which has Manco aluminum split rims and a black vinyl seat cover. It had a 5 h.p. Briggs with a bad cylinder/piston which I am likely to replace with a Honda clone. I have read a little about the history of Rupp and RobRon karts and am very interested in restoring the 2karts I have recently aquired. I wish I knew the model and more info. on the kart since I am so new to this! It does have a white sticker on the floor that appears to have the word "Rocket" in blue. Any info. appreciated! Thanks, B-

Welcome to the forum! You might get some more info on the kart if you join the vintagekarts.com forum. I am not trying to chase you away, its just that they might have a better idea about what that kart might be.

When you get to restoring it, don't forget to post pics of the progress

robron rocket

You have a robron rocket on your hands! Great cart! I had one in the 70's this one looks like it's from the 80's. Ron Stanton is the owner in My Hometown of Bennettsville SC. ROBRON is named after his son's Rob and Ron Stanton. I have a Dixie Roustabout II that I'm prepping for a clone engine. He's still in business but a little hard to reach.

My grandson & I went thru a kart which looks identical to yours. Same wheels, steering wheel, pedal design, & chassis. My Briggs & Stratton engine's code indicated it was an '87 model. So, I figure my kart was built around that year.
