Hi guys! New here!!! Just bought these as our first Karts, my wife and I! We plan on doing some racing, and have lots of awesome tracks nearby!

First, what do you guys know about this CRG Chassis. We bought these two for $1200.00 with BS Raptor Flathead engines.

I just started going through them, they are in great shape! Can you guys help me restore these? What would be the first thing you would replace on this? Also, how hard to mount a seat? Looked like a kid owned these? Is a new seat easy to install? We def do not fit well in these seats! You can see I already dismantled one kart! Going through evcery nut and bolt cleaning it all up! Where would you go with this? What about the powerplant? What would be the best 4 cycle to go with that would be lots of power and 55-60s?

Please tell me this chassis is FULL SIZE, and not a kids kart. I can't find anything on this chassis online, and no photos or karts anywhere.

I found an article where a 17 year old male said he was racing CRG Santana karts professionally. I'd think a 17 year old male would be adult sized.

That seems reasonable...

What would be the first thing you would replace on this?

The oil, that's it...

Also, how hard to mount a seat? Is a new seat easy to install?

Not that hard at all, a simple matter of getting comfortable (as comfortable as you can be in a go kart) drilling 4 holes & slippin' bolts through...

We def do not fit well in these seats!

You're not meant to, it's a go kart :lolgoku:

What would be the best 4 cycle to go with that would be lots of power and 55-60s?

Not that I'd do away with an animal but, a worked honda/clone will give you a few gg's

CRG Santana's were around the late 90's till 01-02 time frame, appx. They were designed as an all around chassis. The right seat post was designed to allow more room to accommodate 4-stroke and 80cc shifter engines. Anything to about 22hp and you're still good. I had a Rotax Max on mine and was a little too much for my body weight, I thought. The standard was; 30/28mm frame tube, 40mm rear axle, 17mm front stub axle @ 10.5 degree camber, 200mm brake rotor, Ven 99 CRG brake system. They retailed for about $2000 for a complete chassis less engine and tires. There is a lot of metric aftermarket parts available for replacement if needed. The side nerfs are very hard to find. If you find correct brake rebuild parts for it, stock up! If you need to fit a larger seat, remember to "tweak" the left seat post not the right. Great chassis. Im sure there are more sitting around somewhere in peoples garages and shops, but this is the only other I have seen in a long time. Have fun!
