Hello everybody. I just picked up an American Powersports 6150 that needed a rebuild. I want to make it street legal but i have to get it together first.

Some might, but most of us are not going to know exactly what a American Powersports 6150 is without seeing a picture of it. Show us what you have, and if you're stumped on anything particular, zero in on that part. Everyone is interested, but we've got to see it.

When you joined, I started following you just because of the name lol. 🥪

The frame is covered with snow right now....

Hate to say it but it deserves a roof over it. Maybe it will have a shelter when it’s once again a viable, breathing machine? Drag it out of the snow!

Or a snow covered kart could be like some natural art masterpiece, so take photos anyway.

'Well it’s just the frame. The motor is in the garage. I have to get the motor sorted without blowing my budget. There is plenty of info on the GY6 but i have found out i have a type 6 with odd hammerhead serial numbers. Plus the previous owner could screw up a cup of coffee so I’m dealing with that. And the name lol, it’s been my save name on PlayStation since PS1. But if this helps its not very impressive…

Hey man, good deal. A complete roller with a seat and all (plus broken motor), nuthin to sneer at. (y)(y)

Now people can go "oh, I know that kart" on sight alone. Many times they don't know what they got because all the stickers and decals are gone.
The manual below is calling it a Manco which I thought surprising. Thought your kart was made well past the Manco era.

Manco 1967
Manco Powersports 2002
American Sportworks 2007
Landmaster 2016-2017
American Landmaster 2024

For anyone who needs it: https://landmaster-assets.american-...ploads/manuals/Fun-Kart/6150_ownersmanual.pdf

You've got a good looking ride there. Pretty clean, really. NOW get the snow off of the darn thing and go spend 10 bucks on a tarp to cover it with. Protect what you have. That's how so many of them get all screwed up. They aren't cars. They're not able to withstand the elements for very long.

Yeah you’re right. My reasoning was if the motor needed to be replaced why waste the time with the frame. But if the motor works out having it covered would save me time in the end. I’ll blow the snow off it and cover it. I have plans to truck liner the bottom and diamond plate the floor buff the paint and make it street legal. We can drive drive golf carts and utility vehicle in my town if it passed DOT. I do have a title so that’s the plan.
