new to the forums here...just got into karts. planning on building a mini buggy soon.

Just wondering if anyone has made their buggy street legal and gotten tags for it? What was the process (please detail). and if you did it in Florida it would help a lot more.

not yet....just trying to get someones experience out of it first.

I have done some research online first and from what I understand in florida all you need is Brakes on all four wheels, E-Brake, Brake Lights, Turn Signals, headlights.

doesnt even mention windshield but i would put one anyway lol especially to drive outside.

In many states you must have a differential to register it. Also DOT approved tires and so on.

i know that this might a noob question
but where would i buy metal tubing at? no online stores please

At a metal shop.

Sometimes Home Depot, Lowes, Menards, or Fleet Farm can have tubing also, depends on your area. Do an online search around your location, we don't even know where you live to tell you where to buy it. So do some research.

yea found some round pipe at home depot today. thanks for everything

I would still do a little bit more research for your area. An everything stor such as Home Depot may not have the best prices. Also, A dedicated metal supplier will probably have a better range of material and advice. Just in case you wanted to save a few bucks...

A dedicated metal store will also have longer lengths. Home depot limits you to what length you can get

Oh, gawd no! Don't buy steel from any of the big box building supply stores. First, they charge you up to 4x what the steel is worth. Second, the quality tends to suck. Third, if you were looking at what I think you were, that's Sch40 black steel gas pipe. Pipe is not tubing. It's too thick, too heavy, and dimensionally inaccurate. Sizing is based on a Nominal Inside Diameter, and tends to be way off at that. Search your local and surrounding towns for actual steel suppliers.
