Just wait, next is extending the swing-arm, redoing the motor plate (angle) and going from 16 to 24 inch tires on the rear... haha

have 2 braces left on the lower front, then the front is done minus top bars, but those wont be done until the very end. At least now we can jump on the front and the suspension compresses :D Finishing up the 2 front braces tonight, then cutting the rear frame off to begin the swingarm.

Hi all, I'm the guy in the pictures that's welding. I'm the other one working on the kart. In the end, it's going to be mine to ride since Jon (specv44) and all our other friends have 4 wheelers. I'll be helping with the updates and picture posting... That is, if I remember to take pictures.

Made some progress on Friday night and Saturday:

Finished the hubs for the rear axle, to allow for the ATV wheels to bolt on to the existing hubs:

Getting more comfortable with my $100 HF 90amp MIG:

All 4 ATV wheels installed:

Cut the rear of the frame off, test fitting the bar to close the rear in:

Swing arm mount attached to frame (no bracing done yet):

Need to buy a 1 1/4" socket to remove the other stud for the swing arm, so I can get my bearings/tube installed to attach the swingarm. Should be working on it again tomorrow after work.

That's gonna be a monster kart!

Yeah, unfortunately it is going to end up being a lot heavier than we wanted it to be, but hopefully since there will be less drag/friction due to better bearings and angles it shouldnt be as bad. Plus, we are going to go ahead and take care of the turbocharger at the same time, so it should be making a little more power :wai:

if the kart is going to be heavier i suggest that you get the torque converter now. itll be way more worth it. and youll have alot more fun, especially on that big of a kart

Probably going to have to stick with the TAV2 for right now, will just order a few extra belts as I am sure we will need them. May work up a different clutch system all together, when it is done.

wow, hadnt realized it has been so long since we worked on the kart. Lots of things have gotten in the way lately, but ordering a new spring today, along with a smaller gear for the TAV2. Should have some video next week.
