Ok.. I bought my boys a Yerf dog 3203 for 350$ a few weeks ago and the guy I bought it off of told me he had the belt replaced recently , well after two days it quit going , engine running just the drive not engaging right , so I pulled off the cover and the bel was very loose ( I took it off by hand without any effort ) so I ran up to a kart store and bought a new belt ( mfgr part numbers, no measurements) and put it on and it was a lot tighter than the old one , I had to remove the driver clutch to put it on and now it's almost as loose as the old one after 2 weeks , we can still ride it but sometimes when we start out from a dead stop it starts making a clunking noise and jerking until it engages after that we are good until we stop again
Is this the driver clutch going bad? How wide is that bronze bushing supposed to be ? By the way it has a asymmetrical 30 series setup and I'm pretty sure the chain is not slipping .. Thank you for your time , I'm long winded sometimes

Ok so I cleaned it all up , it was pretty grimy but unfortunately I haven't noticed a lot of difference ( I don't have any dry lube yet) my driven unit is a little rusty I'm going to try to polish it up tomorrow .
My bronze bushing slides back and forth leaving 1/4 to 3/8 of the shaft exposed , is this a problem ? And should the two parts of the driven pulley come all the way together mine has a 3/16 gap when the belt is removed

The bronze bushing should be able to slide on the shaft. The amount of play you indicated is about correct.

Send Blazkowiez a PM about the TC. He works at a kart shop (and wrote the TC maintenance sticky you read), and should be able to help you
