Hey guys, I started tearing into my '11 GTS150 this weekend. I am EXTREMELY new to go carts and honestly, mechanical things like this in general. I'm having an issue with the cart not engaging in fwd and reverse. it's like the chain or some gears arent quiet engaging. Sometimes I have to rock it or shut it down and started back up in the desired gear. I followed the shifter cable back the this cover. Does this look bad? What is this just dirty gear lube? Should I/ how would I go about cleaning it and lubing it back up? Thanks in advance! PXL_20221203_203707851.jpgPXL_20221203_204704117.jpgPXL_20221203_204712180.jpg

Put some Mineral Spirits in an old pan and old 1” paint brush and start cleaning. Look for any kind of metal pieces or chunks. It may just be dirty. Do it outside if possible you don’t want to blow up your shop! Then blow everything out with compressed air and dry with brake clean. Lube it up really well with moly wheel bearing grease and try it out. If it works great! If not check shifter and cables for sticking. If no problems can be found replace gear box I guess. Remember in the cold grease stiffens up and parts don’t slide easily until warmed up. Hope this helps. Report back when all cleaned up please?
