Most simply, move the wheels inboard toward the bearings. A more complex solution would be to add outriggers to the frame to move the bearings outboard toward the wheels.

well the wheels are 3/4" and then the axel gets bigger to 1", i would have to lathe the axel down to do this.

Here it is as it sits :) ive been driving it around but with no brakes... ahahah and the throttle cable is just a string for now.

my ammo box and new exhaust are sweet touches, so is the steering wheel wrap i did myself. my mom is going to do the seat in that fabric.

hopeing to get bigger slicks for the back to give it a gasser look. NOS/fire extinguisher gas tank going in soon. along with other goodies, including the pull string kill switch.

I really like this. Loving the white walled tires! Looks really retro with this, the ammo box and that steering wheel.
The number plate is a nice touch. I have a mini one like that with my name I might use.
I like the exhaust but the plumbing fittings look clumsy. If you could get some bent tube you could weld it together and it would be really nice. I would brace it also.

Proper throttle and brakes are a must!

Love the ammo can. Is there a purpose to it, or just looks? Had one on my kart serving as a battery box.

Get some brakes. Death sucks.

I agree with the above plumbing comments. Especially regarding the pipe that's welded in the middle. Plus, I can see all those fittings as being rather restrictive. Try breathing through a series of bendy straws.

Were you able to get any info on the frame? I had an old Clark chassis that was just beaten to death. I stripped off what I wanted and gave it to my scrap guy. I could not find squat for info on it...

That's a cool kart. I don't want to sound like a pessimist, but I'd ditch the long exhaust pipe and go for a simpler approach. If I were doing it, I'd put the muffler on the first elbow. I did that with a Harbor Freight 2.5 HP engine last year, and it increased power noticeably. I didn't use a plumbing elbow, though. I just cut the stock header off at a 45 degree angle, cut the muffler off at a 45 degree angle, then welded the two together so the muffler pointed straight back. I noticed the difference in performance immediately.

Thanks guys! i appreciate it.
i did tighten up the chain, The ammo box is just for carrying stuff and on the exhaust, it does look pretty clumsy, but im going to wrap it with header tape. im really not to concerned with power as it has a lot right now. and yea i gotta hook up the breaks, itd probs be a good idea...

also, i just hooked up the kill switch, ill get some pics tomorrow.

Nice! Needs an old period correct flatty though

Here's one I did. You can't see it but my "dashboard" has a spotted aluminum finish I did on my milling machine.

BTW, Many people on here know I'm [eventually] restoring a Clark Rebel and am looking for wheels for it. I've got some that are close but your front wheels are EXACTLY the wheels I'm looking for, so, if you're ever looking to change them PM me!

Love it. But I would also brace the pipe. Your going to snap a chunk off your engine jug. You got a bolt hole right across from the pipe. Make a simple bracket.

I would make the pip got straight up with flapper on top. It would fit the ratrod theme well.
