So I picked this up and had to remove the axle cause it was bent and welded to the hubs, which were welded to the rims...

I know nothing about go karts or axles...
So, what do I need and where can I get it without doing a bunch of fabrication.
Thanks in advance.

A couple of things: a clear shot of the whole kart without kids in the way would help in I.D., which might help in locating the proper axle.

The ID of those pipes OUGHT to be 1 3/8"...??????

At any rate, there is one big missing piece of the puzzle: how LONG does it need to be???

I'm guessing it's a Carter Bros., but that doesn't really matter... As much as I like GoPowersports, BMI seems to be the place to get axles.

PoBoy, 1 3/8 id is 1.375 id. So i think it is correct even though he measured 1.366.

So i guess he would need bearings to fit that ID and an axle to go all the way through. about a 32" axle? maybe? gives him 5 1/2 on each side for wheels....then he will need new wheels and hubs. or a wheel with a keyed hole already in it. Possibly spacers. and locking collars maybe.

Paintedsheep, Do you know the original axle OD and overall Length?

Exactly, that's what I was getting at. Original OD is only important if he's reusing bearings , hubs, or sprocket it was probably 3/4" anyway.

Thanks for the responses. I won't be reusing bearings, hubs or sprockets. I had to grind the axle in half in order to remove it and everything else was in pretty rough shape. All the measurements were made with digital calipers but yeah the id for the tube is likely 1 3/8" rather than 1.366"
Oh and the rough measurement between the hubs is around 20". Remember I couldn't take anything apart nicely, it had to be cut and smacked on to remove so I couldn't get an accurate measurement of the axle length.
Engine is the Harbor Freight Predator 212cc.
