Hello,

Name is Chris, I'm from York, PA and just got into this. I work for the local power plant, retired Navy and run the USS Normandy Reunion Group for my old ship. I collect comics and hobbies...lol.

Just got my daughter's their first kart, late for the 15 year olds, but not for the 8 yo.
No clue what kind it is yet, trying to figure that out...
I'll try to post up a pic.
I didn't even know the lingo before I started checking out your forum, but if I got it right...
It's a 1 wheel drive, scrub brake cart...
No roll bar, 5.5HP B&S engine, seems ok, but of course I want to make it a bit tighter and safe for her to drive.
She seems to run good, carried my rather large frame ok (I looked like Donkey Kong in Mario Kart) and I didn't break the bank paying for it, so it should be a win

Welcome, dude.

Great kart you have there, and in my estimation the best configuration of all--just the basics of a flat frame, four wheels and an engine, more or less. No extra tubing or unneeded weight.
Looks like a Manco model #400.

However I must caution you on your choice of front wheels--those look a lot like the Harbor Freight "specials", basically a cheap-as-can-be dolly or cart wheel (not kart). They're meant for unpowered use.

Those have a habit of disintegrating in spectacular fashion (especially at high speed).
EDIT--They'll only last for 1-5 miles on pavement. They can be dangerous.
