Hey everyone in forum land. My name is Mark and I live in west Michigan. I have been wanting to get into karts for years. I finally scored a Manco black fox 2 seater fun kart that had been sitting in a friends backyard under a tree for at least a year. So in my travels of the wonderful interweb looking for parts and ideas, I found this forum. Looks like a lot of information I have been searching for has been here all along. Looking forward to chatting and getting ideas. Thanks for having me. :auto:

Welcome to the forum Mark

Looks like a lot of information I have been searching for has been here all along.

If it's not already here, there's someone who can provide it nearby :)

Be sure to start a build log when you start on it & ask all the noob questions you like

Where in west michigan? Im in lowell

 Really? I'm in the Lowell area. Where abouts in the Lowell area are you? I'm in Parnell.

I am in Muskegon.

Then you would be approximately as far away as Mysteryboy in Lansing for me.

This is fairly surprising for me; to have two new members in my backyard is something I wasn't expecting; let alone the fact that they both appeared out of nowhere in one day, right under my nose as it were. If you would like to meet up, it would be interesting, just let me throw out the fact that I'm between jobs without a net, so I'm trying to hoard my pennies for food and fuel until I can land another job.....

Who would have run the odds of this?:wai::thumbsup::cheers2::popcorn:

Oh ya, do you know where we can ride in lowell? I own 4 acres plus about 5 more wooded acres someone else owns behind my 4 acres we ride on but it gets old though.

Machinist don't feel bad, we are all under hard times. I am all for meeting any and all members I can as soon as it is possible. With little money for gas and using what I can when I can for the kart, leaves me with little to work with for traveling. At least for now. Its nice to know if I get stuck on something with the kart rebuild, you guys are close enough I could possibly get the help I would need. Too cool. Thanks again everyone for having me here. :wai:

I am in mid Michigan, North of Flint. Close enough to hear the gunshots, but too far to hear the screams. :) I am also new to carts. My sons and I have a Kasea quad and a Path Winder go cart we want to combine into a single seater, off road cart. It will be nice to compare notes with fellow Michiganders!

Same here, Dirtroad. We are on 3 acres with farm land and woods behind and in front of us, But most of that is privately owned and gets old.

Machinist, I think as the economy suffers people are looking for "cheaper" hobbys. That is my motivation at least. This winter was looking to be very long and boring ever since I sold my bogger. My sons and I would usually find an upgrade to build for the bogger before spring. Now we have the go cart and hopefully enough odds and ends to trade for any other needed parts. I understand that this hobby can be painfully expensive depending on your goals, But we're looking forward to building and learning and hopefully someday Use what we've learned to build a tube frame 4wd crawler. :)
