I am a proud new father of a little boy named Corbin – thus I need to start building go karts now. . . I’m thinking two larger karts - one for me, and one for the wife - and also a very small kart for the little guy (for when he’s ready).

I’ve got most of the tools required for this hobby. I've actually already collected a small assortment of parts - a few engines, some steel, drive-chain, a few sprockets, etc.

I appreciate the opportunity to have become a member on this neat website!

Welcome!! Just a couple of quick tips to help your stay here as pleasant a possible...

1] A picture is worth that thousand words; if you post a tech question without your camera to provide them, then you seriously handicap our ability to try and help you....

2] Please don't be one of those posters that says "I bought this " ", and it won't run. What's wrong with it?" (With zero photo's, ID tags, general description, etc).

I don't mean to scare you off, it's just that we see these scenarios on a very regular basis....

Fear not, for I know how to post pictures.

Here’s a few of my garage.

My weld platen - 3000 pounds of cast-iron love!

I purchased an old horizontal mill that was beyond the capacity of my forklift, so I designed and built this gantry crane. It is point-loaded with about 8000 pounds in this picture.

Here’s two of my mills.

And here’s my stash of project-steel. The rack was built using a portion of my steel-stash.

And I promise that I will never say, "I bought this, and it won't run. What's wrong with it?"

What do you need those I-beams for in your garage anyway? Do you do work from home, cos that is quite a setup for just a hobby

The garage is just a hobby room. It's still coming together.

Here’s my TIG welding table being built. It’s made with 3/4" plate steel, 5” channel suports, with 5”x5”x3/8” angle for legs. The feet are 1” plate.

Here’s my medium and small lathe.

I designed my gantry crane to straddle the car lift. This way it takes up less space while not in use. My forklift is only rated for 4,000 pounds, however my gantry crane will easily lift 10,000 pounds.
