Hi all,

I just purchased a Maxxam 150cc 2r buggy and its a blast. I recently ran into an electric problem but when this baby is running it is awesome. I live in the Fayetteville/Ft. Bragg area of North Carolina.

I wired some new headlights and they were working great. It was still daylight out so I turned them off and about 10 minutes later I met up with my buddy in the woods and I wanted to show him the lights. As soon as I flicked the lights back on the engine died. It acted as if the kill switch was pressed but that is disabled and doesnt work at the moment. My buddy has practically the same buggy so we checked the starter, CDI, and battery on his cart and it started everytime. I am going to check for a spark in the plug tonight and I will go from there.

I dont know that pictures would work for this issue because it is an elctric issue. I dont have any equipment to check the voltage but I may go buy something from Harbor Freight to get me through.

Where in fayetteville are you? I am over by Harbor Freight and right off I-95. What toy(s) do you have? I also have a little two-seater streaker cart and a single seater manco w/roll cage but im fixing those to sell.

I really like that little rat rod kart with the fenders, gas tank, and the rims. I also cant wait for the extensions to be done. That would be awesome. I was going to extend my one seater about 6 inches but then I got the Maxxam so I am selling the two smaller carts now. I cant stand it when people extend the swingarms on bikes and buggies though!

Solved the problem on the buggy. The starter is bad. Gonna pick one up tomorrow and tear apart the woods after this rain all day. Its going to be awesome. Especially in the sand pit with the donut and the natural ramps out of the hole. Its gonna be a muddy good time!!!
