Hi guys,,, found this forum the other night, while looking for info on a cart, I just picked up for my 2 young sons.

$50 got me a Manco Fox II. 5hp Robin factory engine off, with clutch broke, bald tires, rusty chain, torn up bottom seat cushion, no brakes and dirty from sitting in shed for a few years.

With over 20 + years of autobody/frame repair work, and a crap load of tools, I think I've got in under control. Now I'm a school bus driver in my small town, and my son's both ride my bus. they are 6 and 9 and are eager for Dad to get this new cart rolling.

When we got it home, we power washed what was there to see what we had. I've removed the broken clutch, changed oil, drained float bowl, of some nasty crud, put fresh gas in it, and got that running on the garage floor. <--- Done

Ordered $93 worth of ebay listed parts. Clutch/chain, pair of new seatbelts, and a brake band. With these few items,, I should be in buisness and riding this weekend.

Eager to be helped,, and help others as well. I'm on a few other forums as well. Build my own computers, and fix all my own stuff. So If I can help others in those area's ,,, feel free to ask!!

Welcome to the forum

Ordered $93 worth of ebay listed parts.

For future reference, there are loads of online go kart parts providers but, I'm sure you'll pick that up; there's also local stores that sell most of what you needed, Tractor Supply for one...

...pair of new seatbelts

If the fox has the roll cage intact, go ahead & mount the belts; if not, it's best not to use them...

Heres a pic I lifted that is just what I got. Manco Fox II
The only stickers left on it, are 2 good decals, and the rest warning labels,, But a serial # sticker that is just shiney chrome. :ack2:
What I do know,, is it has an 80 tooth axle gear, 4in drum for band brake,, and I have ordered a 12 tooth clutch 3/4 bore clutch with a new 35 chain. Yes I do have the roll cage, So that will be getting a full treatment of Swimming pool Noodles for Padding.
I spoke with my bus garage mechanic today, and as if they had any extra old bus seat vinyl covers laying around,, and he got me one. So I can redo that bottom seat for no cost.
I want to build cool muffler like I've seen in a few threads here,, so where do I get the flange part that bolts to the head, to add my pipe onto?? The stock muffler?
Have Mig welder, so I'm all set there.:idea2:

The ebay parts I ordered were from a Go power sports dealer, just easier I guess.

This wife is freaking out a bit thinking this thing is gonna be Way to fast for the boys.

You can cut the flange off the original muffler or make one from a piece of 1/4" flat stock by tracing the original, followed by a bit of cutting, drilling & grinding...

That is like the best 1 wheel drive cart I have ever seen for pre-teen kids. I had one similiar to it (manco critter II... its basically the same thing.... Don't show your kids this video unless you want to buy a new rear wheel every month or so :)

This is my step-son driving it when he was about 10 yrs old. :)
