Hey guys, I am fairly new to the go kart scene, I use to have one when I was younger, and just bought my brother's old American Sport Works Scorpion RT 150cc, which needs a bunch of work. The go kart I had as a kid was a single seater, no roll bar, a 3.5hp engine, turf saver tires, and brakes that were just paddles that pressed up against the rear wheels. I bought my brother old Scorpion for $100 thinking how it would be great to get it up and running for hunting and trail riding in the area, and when my boys get older, give them something to cruise around the yard with. Once I get my phone charged and the weather is nice, I will post some pictures of it. It's in rough shape, but after a bunch of jury rigging, I see some potential in this kart, and hey, if I can't get the engine running, I will steal my skidoo safari's engine and mount that up somehow lol.

That was a great introduction, and thanks for not using your intro post to bombard us with questions right off the bat.

Yard or fun karts are the best! When everything else in this world is flat-out complicated a "one-lunger" engine and four wheels is quite refreshing.

Nah, I am fairly good at finding the info I need, but love these sites to get insights on problems that I maybe having when working on a project. Lucky for me, where I lack in mechanical know how, my wife makes up the slack, got to love a girl that grew up in a garage lol. I am hoping that after a fluid/spark plug change, replacement of the electric choke/throttle cable, and a bit of jury rigging, I can get this kart to be functional. Once I get it functional, I will work on the making it look pretty lol

Welcome to the forum...in response to your post on another thread....I know there was a new member from Maine here just recently.

A lot of folks don't bother with the map. Worse yet....a lot don't bother to go to their UCP and fill out a profile location....(like you haven't yet.)

Sooooo....when they start a new thread...nobody knows where they're from anymore.
