Hello, I joined this forum to get some ideas and also share my project. My friend and I are building a Bierkiste (beer box kart). If you are unsure what that is I have provided a link below. There are many videos on youtube and maybe even some of you have one as well. These karts are all self made which makes them each unique and are popular in Germany and Austria.

Well....to take it over the top.....you need a Kelly Woodish/Poboy Crazy touch: .......a double handled steering wheel.....with steins for the handles.....and a beer tap handle for an accelerator pedal......

I am using an old pro kart frame and my engine just arrived today with the clutch and chain. I will be using a 212cc predator for the kart. On Sunday I will start to fabricate the frame. I wil try to post the pictures from photobucket with the progress.

honestly.. a 99 engine, adding ~ 150 shipping, plus taxes, plus import fees...
that's not a good idea at all

Find a gx200 on ebay for the price of a predator at your door,
you can almost buy a new real Honda gx200..
for a third of that a gx200 clone

itsid, I am a US service member married to a German. I have been here for seven years and my contract is up in eight months. I am staying here but for now I use the USPS system. I had it shipped to my APO which is the USPS system on base. With shipping it cost me right around $143 dollars. You are absolutely right though, once I'm out shipping stuff from the US will be pricey!

Update...spoke with my father yesterday. I owe him $108! They only charged $7.99 for shipping which is probably the domestic rate!!!

Thanks man, it would be cool to meet up with him. I am hoping to have my first outing with the Bierkiste at German Racewars in May. Not sure if he knows what that is. Basically a bunch of Germans getting drunk, partying for three days, and drag racing the 1/4 mile with anything and everything. It's so much fun, I can't wait.

Never was to GRW, so I can't tell for sure, but from the pics I've seen.. that's nothing I'd enjoy tbh... *shrugs*

let me put it this way.. I'd rather NOT listen to Scooter, and I'd rather not attend any festival that offers a good chance I'd run into Ballermannhits or the like.
I can't get drunk enough to be amused... not without passing out that is,
at which point it's pointless to even give it a try
