New Go Kart

My wife's uncle gave our kids a new/used Go-Kart for Christmas. It's an off-road cart with suspension, huge wheels, torque-converter, etc. 6.5 hp Tecumseh engine. Kids love it. But I can't keep it running. That's why I'm on this forum. But I'll start a separate thread for all that. Glad to be here...

Just an observation, but with a rollcage you need safety belts for the riders. If you roll, you want to be kept in the cage and not thrown out where you can get rolled over or have limbs squashed by the frame.

The rule is:
No cage - No belts
Cage - Belts

I agree with Paul`s comment regarding safety belts.
I have firsthand experience of rolling a buggy.

BUT that is a brush guard, not a roll cage!
(as can be verified by the flimsy mounting tabs it's bolted to)

in case this buggy rolls with passengers in, it might collapse
(in fact it surely will, with a big enough impact)

Not sure if I'd trust this thing enough to add belts tbh.

Another important safety tip. Wrap up those pony tails. You definitely do not your kids to get scalped when the pony tail gets cuaght in the chain or axle

It has seat belts. You can see the buckle at the bottom on the frame. I’m assuming it was just the kids wanting a pic in it.
