This is the go kart plan i decided to go with! Its called the Tarantula from Spidercarts.

Its is my first build. In total with all of the parts and engine it costs 1300 bucks, unincluding the $30 fee for the plans.

Now i have found all of the places i need to go to order my parts, but i am wondering if it is even worth it at all. It will take up about half of a summer job's pay, but im 14 and really have nothing else to spend it on.

And if you think its worth it, then where should i go to buy the bars that make up the frame?

You could probably do it a lot cheaper considering your in the states......get second hand stuff like wheels, axle, engine, seat, steering wheel, sprocket and brakes. Basically all you really need to buy new is metal and fasteners, assuming you are good with fabricating parts....otherwise, you could buy the little intricate bits, like steering spindles etc

Now if you were in Australia that would be a lot harder lol :mad2:

Lol well i think im gunna do it but yeah i changed a few things. I got a much cheaper engine, and i got cheaper shocks as well as seat. Im just worried that all of my summers pay will go to one thing and i wont have any left over

Just a general metal dealer? My guess is that its made of 25mm mild steel rhs....might be 1" since your in the US

Found a couple of places online that I think are in your area and might stock the steel you will need

This place seems quite good, no prices online though, would definitely be worth a call

your plans should say what you need, just ask them about the particular sizes and thicknesses, get all the costs and work out the most efficient way to do it....I would say 2mm thick is minimum unless you are using a mig
