Hey! My name is Nick and i just registered for an account here. I have more of a background in cars but i built a motorized bicycle in college and it made me love working with small engines. For the time being i'm wanting to build a go kart as a fun toy to play with for the next couple years while I save up to buy myself another project car.

Game plan:
1. Build engine
2. Find kart
3. upgrade frame/brakes

I've been doing a ton of research on engines and i have a ton of research left to go before i start asking questions. I've already purchased a predator 212cc that i am waiting to come in the mail. once i get it and can confirm which model it is i will make my parts purchase. I've been changing things in my shopping cart as i go but this is what i have right now.



I plan on using the stock head and having it milled and ported somewhere local. seemed to be a cheaper alternative to buying a second head and then having a spare one on my shelf forever.
Once i get the engine in and can start tearing it down i'm sure i will have a lot more to ask, but for now feel free to make some comments on the parts im thinking about so far.



P.S. I'll starts a build thread in the correct forum at a later date.

Also, just realized i don't have push rods on that list. I'll pick those once I figure out how long they need to be.

Those would be the same length as a 1968 VW upper radiator hose....

Oh! I think ive seen those! They are the ones that require a 3" valve cover spacer and guarantee 30+hp right??

No...that's the Predator pushrods....(and with them you can run it on hosewater....and get 1,000 mpg!)
