Just found this site, and while I don't have a kart yet I have decided to start off right by making a 1300 cc busa road kart. I'm new to gokarts but not new to building stuff that nobody else has. My last project was a crew cab long bed Chevy diesel truck that is on 37 inch tires, is still daily driven and used to tow, and went 11.70@116.9 MPH in the 1/4 mile on fuel only at 7900 lbs.
So now I want to do this gokart a lot like this:

only with a better roll cage (going to look sort of like a funny car cage). I'm sure I'm going to be asking lots of questions on where to find the parts that can handle the speed/power. I have some people looking for a donor bike for me, but good chance I would get to bending/welding the frame until this fall so nothing is going to happen soon. I just want to start digging up info early

Of the truck? I can dig some up. Haven't started the kart yet, it is still in the gather info/find the donor bike stage right now

Welcome to the forum, sounds like an insane project. Just be safe about it, okay? Don't cut any corners on material quality or fabrication. Darwin watches builds like this very closely.
