Hey guys i got a fourwheeler today. A yamaha warrior 350. Its been sitting for a while before i bought it. I got it up and running good. But i noticed that the brakes dont work. All i care about is the rear brakes. Any ideas on how to get them to work? Thanks

first thing is remove caliper and see if you can push cylinder back with c clamp
my raptor somehow got cylinder just a little nick and made it retract slightly crooked once and got wedged but c-clamp pushed it straight now i make sure i keep it clean when storing and keep rocks from gathering in guard plastic under caliper
oh and one time it got the larger rear brake pad stuck cause it wasnt all the way sliding freely on the 2 rods for the freefloting pads[ the larger with 2 holes in it

Thanks i will definantly try that. But i was also thinking that i may need to bleed the brakes. Because its been sitting for a good while. I was thinking maybe it has a clog in one of the lines and that the fluid isnt getting to the caliber or master cylinder. Think that could also be it?

That's quite possible but, it's best to check that the caliper moves freely first, otherwise, it doesn't matter how much you bleed the system, it still won't work...

well it moves freely one of the lines was clogged. I managed to get brake fluid into the caliper. The brakes worked for a good 2 mins. Then started leaking. So im in the process of looking for a good used braked caliper or getting a rebuild kit. Which one you guys think would be better?

If you can source an identical caliper...

Buying used, you could end up with the same problem; either buy new or source a rebuild kit; it's not too difficult to rebuild a caliper...

I found a good used one the guy said it dosent leak and works properly he said he would show me before i buy it. Its off a 1990s model. It should be the same right? Im planning on going and getting it Saturday. But i dont want to waste the gas if it isnt the same one. Im going to do some research on it here in a min.

Do you realise how many different models are out there? Granted, some parts my stay the same for decades but, other may have slight changes every year...

Take the old caliper with you & compare the two side by side...

Bikebandit.com has great parts breakdowns, load the one for yours and for a 1990 model and compare part numbers.

Well i went and got it today. It fit perfectly and it was even the same color. I also picked up a new ignition coil wire and front fenders all for 70 bucks. I think I got a pretty good deal. Ill try to post some pics tmrw.
