My 18 year old son races motocross and works as a fabricator for local racing team, other than what I over hear him talk about or watching him race I am probably the most ignorant member to date. However I enjoy the thrill and enthusiasm of racing. My ultimate goal is to one day own and operate a go kart track and hope to gain much needed knowledge from you all!!

Well other then my sarcasm. What type of track are you looking to own/build? Concrete? asphalt? Dirt?

Also do you plan on having rent able karts? If so, what would your target speed be? 10-20-40-60 MPH?

Also, I know personally two local guys who own gokart tracks around me. [little ones does OK business] One of them didn't have proper insurance for his track, and someone got a little whip lash from someone else horsing around. and he got sued pretty badly, while still around. Lets just say he'll be paying for that silly accident for awhile. Think about insurance for sure!
