I bought a 212cc predator engine from Harbor Freight today, it has the hemi head. I really want to put a billet rod billet flywheel pull the governor and try to get like 15 to 20 horsepower out of this engine for my go kart. the problem I don't know what rod what flywheel or anything to go with, I don't know what the model number of this engine is or how to find out if someone can help me out and tell me, what I need to do for you guys to help me out more and know what parts I need then let me know, thanks in advance

Something to consider -
Must "normal little go karts" (yard karts) aren't particularly known for great high speed handling and steering.
Although it might mean more work in the end you may want to consider stepping up your HP gradually instead of going whole hog right off the bat.
Find the level you and your kart are comfortable with.
Trust me on this, I put a go fast motor on a Manco Quicksilver and while it will go like ****, it handles like a tractor at speed, which isn't much fun!
Note the ground clearance, sitting high like that doesn't help.

Very true but how do I find out what billet rod I need for my hemi go kart and flywheel? Is there a model number or something somewhere on the engine?

I have no idea how much hp.
It was rated at 6.5 stock.
Gov. removed, billet rod & wheel, 18lb springs, carb rejetted & e tube replaced, header.
It went fast enough to where the steering became an issue so nothing else was done to the motor.
Plain truth is this kart isn't designed for a big hp motor.
With a high ground clearance the center of gravity doesn't allow very good cornering at speed.
It's better on dirt where you can slide it, on pavement with slicks it'll stick too much and want to high side.
I'm not saying don't do it, I'm just saying be aware that it'll never handle like a race kart.
I've learned it's limits but it took dumping it a few times along the way.

My ground clearance is alot lower then yours, but u have done pretty much exactly what I want to do to mine. I want to do camshaft also. I have alil 7 horse on mine right now 208cc ironton governor removed no mods other then header.

just going off RPM if your go kart was designed to go 25 mph at 3600 rpm, and you put a bunch of mods into it to pull 6000 rpm you get 41 mph... which is way too fast for a little go kart, and borderline too fast for a large one.

How did you figure out what parts are for your engine

My little go kart with a 208 governor removed goes 35 tested it next to my buddy's jeep......valves floating lol, but that's why I got this predator to make faster and able to handle.

AFG (Affordable Go Karts) has 'em.
Check out their website.
Keep in mind my motor is a Honda clone.

I'll agree on the too fast!
I never got to top end, I had the sense to back off when the steering got wobbly.
The time it went over was due to over enthusiastic cornering.
I've since pulled the motor to put on an old Margay to run on a backyard dirt oval.
The red kart will eventually get a 3.5hp motor for the Grandkids.
I'm working on a Robron Rupp Superdart with an 820 West Bend for vintage racing at the moment.

I once thought I was indestructible.
With age comes judgement.
I have no problem with fast as long as it's on something built for fast.
I'm in no way telling you what to do, or not to do.
I'll only repeat what I've already said here - You can get as dead on a go kart as a race car.
Nothing wrong with going fast, just use some sense doing it.
I wish you luck with your project and hope you have a fun time doing it.

I've found out that a lot of the sites that sell these parts will direct your questions directly to product specialists who can ensure that the parts you want are correct for your engine. I was asking a lot of the same questions. Rods come in different lengths, some for different pistons. Flywheels; lots of choices.
I just asked the sales people to have the product specialists verify that the parts I was asking about were right for The Hemi Predator #60363 with otherwise stock parts. They were all very good for this.

They were less helpful when I asked them to explain effects of using a 7000 RPM max vs 7000+ RPM camshaft while operating in the 4-5k range. Still waiting for that Email lol

Well....the short answer is not very well on the 7k+ cam....

But you didn't mention the other end....like when it starts making power...in otherwords...it's intended powerband....but it should be easy to figure when you consider this: they aren't magical, they make some more horsepower by increasing volume and altering timing...but they don't do it without sacrificing something...(why a hotrod with a hefty cam will barely idle....)

So....if you don't plan on turning 7k....don't get a cam designed to run that....but get one designed to make power in the ranges you plan on running.
