Hey folks! I found this forum while doing some research on go karts. I wanted to get one for my 3 daughters. I also wanted an old-style one like they had when I was growing up (70s and 80s). Well, I ended up with one a bit more recent than that as my wife really liked the idea of the roll cage
So, without further ado, here is my new (meaning: used, beat up, and dilapidated) kart!
It is a (unknown year as of yet) Phoenix Baja 286-462E; I'm thinking it's supposed to be a 6HP Tecumseh with electric start, a headlight, and a taillight. It's mostly there, the frame appears okay, the engine runs, but needs some TLC, the torque converter drive is missing, the starter is missing, the wiring and cabling is a mess, and the tires are no good.
Looks like we'll start by taking it apart (while taking lots of pics) and seeing what is worn out and/or broken. Then we'll paint it up nice, order some parts, and put it back together.
