sorry guys I have been down with a really bad cold and have not been able to update the progress,this cold really put me down this time, I was able to build the floor before I got sick which is made out of a sheet of aluminum and it definitely added to the look. next I will be looking to get the front upper shock mounts cut out as soon as I start to feel better and I will update the progress then. look for some pics then.Thanks again for your comments guys.

hey guys,
sorry about the delays but a few things came up that I needed to get taken care of, I was able to make the floor out of .063 Alum. and was able to get it mounted, right know I am in the process of finishing up researching what I want to go with
for the rear drive train as well as getting the front upper shock mounts cut and installed. I will get some pics of the floor as well as a few more updated pics. of the kart.

rgvkid, I have seen trophy karts progress through the years and they do build nice karts, but I have not checked them out lately,
I myself have been working on designing a kart that will be a two seater for adults and it will have independent suspension and a drive shaft setup is what it will be spec ed out to have and will be using quad style motors. I will have to check them out. Thanks for your input

Dude Im twiddling my thumbs waiting to see this thing hit the dirt!!!!

I Do custom Iron work for residential properties. More artistic higher end stuff but when the economy is down i go back to my roots which is offroad fabrication. Mainly roll cages and repairs. The Kart thing i got into as a hobby to build for my ex's daughter. But i still want to build a mini buggy for myself. Another friend of mine wants me to convert one of his chinese buggies to a long travel front end. I just need to figure out the spindle setup to match the alluminum wheel bolt pattern.

That sounds pretty cool, and a chance to be really creative working and building customs gates, I know that there is a lot of request for them when times are good, but when times are bad you do what you have to.
I have been in the off-road industry for about ten years now and it has been one big learning experience, I did not know anything when I started out, but having been able to work for some higher end shops building sand cars and pre-runners I have been able to pick up a few things here and there and overall a pretty cool experience.

If you would like you can send me over some of the spindle specs that you are trying to figure out and I would be able to see if I could figure something out for you are at least get you going in the right direction and at that point you would have a CAD rendering of the new spindle design.

It is set up for my 7 year old daughter and she gets in either through the roof or side of the buggy.
